Johnny has finally gotten himself caught stealing chickens from a widow woman and is currently locked up in the town jail.
Not much else is going on with Johnny being the solitary prisoner, so the sheriff stops over at the saloon across the road to visit his favorite girl Clementine.
In the meantime, a half dozen cattle rustlers are chased down, arrested and brought to Sheriff Walkers jail. They are all tossed into the one and only cell with Johnny for safe keeping.
Later that day, after the sheriff and his deputy lock up the jail and go home for the night, the men spend the time teaching Johnny all the things they do for fun out on the open range where there is no women to be had.
